Connecting to transmission, which pin?

Hi

Im trying to connect to the transmission in my Alfa 166 2.5 V6 with ZF 4HP20 auto transmission. When im trying to connect, it says i have to connect adapter 1 or PIN 0. I don't have any adapter at the moment and PIN 0 does not make any sense as it does not exist. So which pin do i have to connect to?

Sorry, this is an error in the vehicle/module list.
The gearbox is usually on pin 7.
However on some Alfa 166s (I think on the '03 version) it can be on pin 9 which means that adapter 1 is required.

Ok, mine is an '00 version, so hopefully it's on pin 7 then, if that does not work maybe i will try pin 9.
Thanks for the reply! :)

Can it be any other pins than 7 or 9? i have tried both 7 and 9, but can't connect to the transmission. I can connect to the engine and ICS. When i scan with pin 7 and 9 connected i find 3 modules:

Engine
Bosch Motronic ME 2.1 (2,5 V6, 3.0V6)
ISO Code: FB 86 02 97 EF

Other
UNKNOWN/UNSUPPORTED
ISO Code: BF 07 80 80 9B

Dashboard
UNKNOWN/UNSUPPORTED
ISO Code: 32 83 02 98 A4

No one of these are the transmission, are they?

Problem solved :)

The transmission is connected to PIN 12 on the OBD connector in 166 2.5 V6 auto.

Thanks for this info.
Gearbox on pin 12 is something I did not expect... Will fix the message in next release...

Please, anyone else with Alfa 166 and ZF4HP20 gearbox to report on which pin it is on his car!

I can confirm that '03 166 3.0 connects OK through an adapter. Without the adapter it doesn't work.

Hi,

I have successfully connected to ZF gearbox controller on a licensed Multiecuscan and cable. Anyone here successfully used the calibration tool for an existing gearbox (although the software says it is used for new gearbox calibration).

Anyone notice any benefits? eg. smoother gear change on ZF gear box or sort of?

Thanks
