Best match for my Spider 2.2 JTS?

Post by Mozella »

Sorry for the double post, but I got no response from the general community.

I think the best engine match for my 2007 Alfa Spider 2.2 JTS would be the Brera with the same engine.

But what selection should I make for the other (non-engine) areas, specifically the body computer?

Finally, is there any way I can perform some sort of OBD with my convertible top? It's more complicated than any other part of the car and, naturally, it doesn't work correctly?

Thanks

Yes, you can select Brera. As far as I know the Spider is basically a "convertible" Brera... and all electronics inside is the same.
You can run the "Scan" function to identify the exact type of modules that you have.
I don't have support for the convertible top yet.

Does that mean that it is possible to communicate with the top via OBD?

And if the answer is "yes", how long should I keep my fingers crossed hoping that you'll satisfy my itch? Alfa didn't make very many of these Spiders. On the other hand, it seems that nearly everyone has trouble with the top at one time or another; therefore, I would guess that plenty of folks might consider purchasing software to troubleshoot the top alone even if they're not all that interested in the rest of what Multiecuscan offers. And I can't imagine tracking down problems using "old school" mechanical skills.

Being able to "pick the brains" of my top would be wonderful, even if you decide that we Spider owners should pay a special fee for a "top module" in order to offset your costs/efforts.

If you don't intend to provide software sometime in the future, is there an alternative source?

I just checked the documentation/functionality of this module and I think that I can add support for it soon....

That loud thumping sound you hear is me jumping up an down for joy.

I'll monitor the situation closely and if you decide to charge extra for this function, count me as your first customer.
