Is it possible with FES to give my grande punto a software update ? I have a fault that the passenger airbag occasionally keep popping up. I was told (fiatforum)) that this was because of the use of an old software and the dealer should read new software on my punto. Could i do it myself with FES ?
I also have problems with understanding what the functions are which FES gives me, for instance:
What happens with this function engine> bosch EDC ? Is there a description what all the options, i can choose for my punto, do ?

Re: Software Update
If you have a 1.9 multijet Grande Punto, the ECU is not yet supported. But you can't connect with 147/Stilo/Multipla and others 1.9 JTD ecu.... you have to try with Mito 1.6 Mjet one (thanks to Yani for suggesting, but I haven't yet tested this combination) because the data transfer protocol is different from other 1.9 JTD. However, responding to your question, the EDC15 (euro3) is the unijet system, whilst the EDC16 (euro4) is the multijet system, you have to choose regarding to emission level of your car.
Re: Software Update
FES can't apply software updates to ECUs at the moment.
I don't know if it will ever be able to, as there would be the issue of where to get the software update from?
Yani would be the man who would know for sure though.
