FES 3.2 crashes

I used previous versions on a desktop pc with success. Now I have a new netbook so I transferred the license, installed FES 3.2 on the new note and it started to crash on this machine. The car is an Alfa 146 1.4 TS Junior (M2.10.4), I'm using a VAG/KKL cable with 3 pin adapter (this setup worked with the desktop pc), it connects ok, can read the fault codes, but when I switch to the Parameters page and select any parameter to read it shows the values for some seconds then crashes (windows message: Multiecuscan has performed an illegal operation and needs to close, or something like this). The same happens on the Graph page, but it can run forever if I connect in simulation mode. FTDI drivers for the cable installed, latency set to 1 ms. The note has a dual core Atom CPU, tried to set the affinity to use only 1 core, the same happens. XP SP3, .NET 3.5 (which also installs 2.0, 3.0). Sadly I deleted the installers of the previous FES versions so I cannot try, for example 2.8.2 which I used a lot with no problems.

Any fix for this or a new version? I tried all possible combination of settings, no luck. So with this version FES became almost completely unusable for me. :( One more thing I figured out that it stays alive for a lot more time if i just turn the key on but don't crank the engine. But when I crank it crashes in a few seconds.

Ok, let's say that this is not a good version for me but is there any way to roll back to 2.8.2? I found the trial installer elsewhere but it won't accept my license code even after deactivating v3.2 and requestin a license trasfer.
