Fiat Doblo 1.9 Multijet 120 Support?

Hello

I have been a registered user of FES for some time now to use on my 2000X Fiat Punto Sporting.

I have the ELM 327 1.4, VAG/KKL & 3 of the adapter cables to fully support all ECU/Can Systems.

We have just purchased a 2007 57 Doblo 1.9Multijet 120.

I can get it to connect to the Engine ecu by selecting the Doblo 1.9JTD, however using the ELM on its own, when plugged in makes the temp gauge drop below zero, same as fuel and the amber low fuel warning light flashes all the time and the ABS light comes on on the dash.

I can read the paramenters of my car using the 1.9 JTD selection, ie, DPF, Oil Degradation etc, however alot of paramenters are 0 due to the dash going crazy!

I also cannot connect to any other modules in my car.

I did notice, connecting the yellow adapter cable into the car, with the elm allowed the dash board to stay 'on' but then I couldnt connect to anything. Error ' Connection Error ' ELM327 > ECU connection Failed.

Is there a work around or do we have to wait for Doblo 2007> 1.9 Multijet support from FES?
If so, is there an eta?

Thanks

Hi,

Your car is supported (as well as most engines used in all variants of Doblo).

It seems that your interface has a problem with the CAN line (see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1493). Once you plug it in the OBD socket and it blocks all CAN communication in your car so that the dashboard goes off.
Using Adapter 3 actually disconnects the ELM interface from the CAN network because it leaves pins 6 and 14 empty. So, using this adapter does not make your dash go crazy.
However, Adapter 3 is not needed for your car because your car seems to be the older Doblo variant which is not based on the Grande Punto.

I think that 1.9JTD is the correct selection in your case (Bosch EDC16C39 CF4/EOBD Diesel Injection (1.9, 2.4) is the correct selection for the 120hp engines). However, it is much better to use the SCAN function. It will properly identify what type is your ECU.

Hi Yani

Thank you for your reply.

Would the ELM still be considered faulty if it works fine with a 2000 Fiat Punto 1.2 Sporting?

Yes, it is possible.
The 'faulty' ELM interface which I had was working on my wife's Punto Mk2, but when I tried to connect it to my Stilo I immediately got "CAN ERROR" message on dashboard and it was not working on the Stilo.
