Bosch 5.3 ABS latency too high, cannot use parameters

Hi,

I was contributing to this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2186, but I have started a new thread with a title that more suits my problem. The problem is that when I connect to my Multipla JTD's Bosch ABS 5.3, then tick some parameters and start a graph, it says 'latency too high' and disconnects. If I do the same thing with the engine ECU, there is no problem.

I have tried two different VAGCOM cables and three different laptops and it is consistently impossible to run a graph of the ABS parameters. I thought it was the laptop processor speed, as many others have complained about that problem, but it isn't. I used a Dell Latitude 1.7GHz, an Intel Atom netbook 1.67GHz and an HP Elitebook Intel Core i5 2.67GHz, and they all have the same problem with the ABS.

There is a suggestion in another thread that this has got worse since V2.6.1, but that isn't so with this fault. I am using V2.8.2, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled V2.0 and that has exactly the same problem. I tried the KWP Timings and there are slight differences in how soon the latency message comes on, but it disconnects after 20-30 seconds on all settings.

How am I going to check my ABS?

Jon

Try versions 2.5 or 2.6 and you'll see that will works fine
Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion, Mattydr67. Unfortunately in my case there is no difference. I tried V2.5 and got exactly the same disconnect results as V2.0, V2.6.1, V2.8.2 and V3.01.

My friend it is not a problem with your tools.
The softwears has bugs.
And I don't know why.
Maybe Yani will fix this kind of issue.
Good luck

My dear Yani I wanted to know your opion of what I told you in my "shouting posts" becasue I show you the facts and you didn't replay to me.
How you call this? I said that it is a bug and you said it isn't. Ok It's isn't but if you like please explain to me what is the casue of disconactions in the new versions?
Good luck

I have the same problem with my Alfa 156 JTS connecting with Bosh ABS 5.7 VDC :
It logs data for maybe a minute or so and then it disconnect. I have sent the generated error report.
I use a VAGCOM interface modified so it for this test only connects to pin 1 - makes no difference!
The reported data seems correct until the communication shuts down. This termination may as well be initiated by the ABS ECU which complains about mal-function ("go to dealer" "stop immediately" etc..) as soon as the scanner connects.
Bug or not - there is a problem :|

The warning message on the dashboard is normal. The ABS system operation is disabled during diagnostic session and that's why the system shows a warning message on dashboard. The normal ABS operation is restored after the end of diagnostics.
I see in the report that you have a very stable connection for 4-5 minutes and then the ECU terminates the connection. I also noticed that you are probably driving the car as the speed reding changes. Please note that most of the ABS systems automatically terminate the diagnostic session and restore normal operation after the car exceeds certain speed.

Thanks Yani
That’s explaining everything - it’s a shame it’s not possible to record all these nice data when driving, but OK - it’s enough to make a failure diagnostic. :P
