Hi yani!

Do you think it would be possible to upgrade the Bosch ABS5.7 unit in eariler alfa 147 with newer Bosch ABS8 unit?
I'm interested in upgrading the ABS ECU, because the newer unit has added functionality.

AFAIK ABS and engne ECU communicate over CAN bus. Would proxy alignment be enough to get the newer unit working or are there any major differences in operation?

If your Alfa has VCD and ASR maybe. If it has not - ABS 8 is usual ABS system a little bit faster and smaller than ABS 5.7
And ABS 8 is a modular system

I re-open this topic,
I have AR 147 2003 with Abs module Bosch 5.7 with only Asr,
now I can take from 147 F.L. 2005 Abs Module with Vdc and all other necessary sensor (angle and yaw), pump, master cilynder, hose.
Do you think it would be make to upgrade?
I take instrument panel, body computer or/and other?
