Using vag com 409.1 for airbag punto 2000 1.2 8v(HELP)

hello everybody
Hoping someone can HELP !!
I have F.E.S. 2.7.2 + licence
I want to talk to airbag module punto 2000 1.8v, I have vag com 409.1, I change the wires, fitted a switch so that the wire which was connected to pin 7 can now be connected to pins 1, 3, 7, 9.
In the FES scan function, the vag com is found on com 3.
The message I get is "No responce from ECU"
the vag com 409.1 was got from ebay, it came with ross tech software, I did not load software.
Is there any other changes or mods I have to do to the vag com interface ( eg elm I had to fit resistors + caps)

update to this post, now have it working
By not using Fes scan interface function. com1 was free so I set vag com to use com1 with latency at 1 in ports device manager and in FES. simples
