2003 147 JTD 16v - Service Reset

Hi all,

Recently purchased a cheap ELM327 v1.4 and have removed the 120R resistor as it would not communicate with the CAN system.

So now I can connect to everything on the car, read and reset fault codes but when I try to reset the service counter which is on 0 FiaECUscan reports that the process was complete but when I check the service counter it still at 0.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jim

I'm no familiar with 147 JTD 16V.

Could it be possible that all your service counters (typically 10 service resets are available/allowed) have been used and the display just shows zero from that point on.

Well if that function is in the 147 JTD then I guess thats it, it just reads 0.

OK so thats it then, no more service counter which seems a bit daft!

Appart from the Service Counter reading zero how did the car tell you it needed a service? A display saying "service due in x days or y miles"?

Is it still prompting for a Service by say a flashing oil light?

You might have to go to an Alfa forum to get a definitive answer!

On a 2003 car there isn't the regen counter, so there is only the service counter to reset, in the instrument panel.
