Hi,
I have bought the same product, from an english ebayer and I have the same problem.
Maybe the ELM that we bought is fake?

Hi,
Can you explain what did you do wrong when you have the message "the operation has timed out".
I have the same problem.
Thanks for your help.

The cable should work! You just need to install all the drivers and change (or find/ edit) the com port # and that is it! Maybe you need to restart you laptop and it should work!

I got the same cable, v1.4a, and it is working!
