I keep getting timeout messages when trying to connect to my punto engine ecu. I have tried making sure:

1. The latency is at 1 in advanced port settings
2. The correct COM ports are assigned in the ecuscan settings when running the test
3. Selected ELM 327v1.3+ as the interface type
4. Using multiecuscan v2.3.1
5. Had key switched on and could see the LED light illuminated on the obdII connector.

Any other suggestions? I am using one of these cables:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

Could I be using dodgy usb->serial drivers? Anyone seen similar issues? I am running XP SP3.

Hi There,

I have the same issue, bought the OBDlink from scantool.net and using OBD to 3pin connector adapter.
Getting the same results of no connection from ECU.

Have digged a bit and found that our Fiat is not supported by ELM327 linkage, some fiat like ECU 4F shuld be supported via ELM327 but not all fiat ECUs

Please post your ECU label (mine is IAW 16F.E3).

I have read that VISA Uniscan 1.83 interface (can be bought in e-bay) supports the 16F ECU but than you should have a PC with two serial ports.
