Vgate OBD can't connect to Giulia
Posted: 12 Jan 2025, 09:56
I used V-gate Bluetooth adapter for years paired with my laptop and MES (old version) used for servicing Alfa Romeo 159.
Last year I purchased Giulia 2024. So it was time to upgrade MES to a newer version to include Giulia support.
Currently I have MES 5.3R1.
This is the adapter I use:
I've also ordered a bypass cable, but it doesn't seem to change anything:
I successfully paired the adapter with my laptop and reduced FIFO buffer size as recommended.
MES recognizes the adapter and passes all identification tests.
When I try to connect to my vehicle (any module) it says that it fails to connect.
On the other hand, I can connect with my Android phone with the same adapter and read data like RPM and Throttle position.
I tried the 'Scan DTC' option, it runs a long scan and when it does I have different error messages popping up on an instrument panel.
So, there is a communication, but not with correct modules.
Anyone had similar issues?
Any help will be appreciated.
