Stop/Start Neutral Learning - P1306-62

The shifter cable snapped in my fiat 500. Replaced the cable then a few days later an EML popped up which said about the engine coolant sensor being wrong. Local mechanic checked and said it was a shifter cable error.

Tried MultiECUSCan and it showed this error: P181D-64 - Gear lever position sensor (plausibility) - Signal/message plausibility

Saw there was an option to relearn the neutral position so followed the steps and it returned "Completed - Status: UNKNOWN". Did this with the engine in MAR a few times but the P1306-62 error keeps popping up and can't be cleared.

P1306-62 - Neutral signal learn - Signal compare failure

Saw the suggestion here to try with the engine on but as soon as the process is finished the error comes up again.

Any tips or advice on how to clear this error please?

Want to make sure I'm following the process correctly:
  1. Press execute with the car in neutral and key in MAR
  • Wait ~2 seconds
  • Press clutch and put into 1st gear
The process seems to take about a ~1 second before returning "Completed - Status: UNKNOWN", is it meant to be this quick? Am I doing it wrong? Tried with the engine off and on but no luck so far.

What seems to happen is:
  1. Says make sure there are no errors but can't clear P1306-62, car is in neutral, key can be in MAR or engine on, result is the same
  • Press Execute
  • About ~1 second I get: Completed - Status: UNKNOWN
  • Now move car into 1st
  • Next prompt is to turn off car
  • Restart and error pops up again
Appreciate any help with this!

Don't know of it works but when doing something on MAR (engine not running) i hook up a good battery charger, never had any problems.

Also using a CanTieCar with Multiplexed, so no changing colored cables. But if you can connect to module i don't think that would be a problem.
