Giulia "Failed to Excecute Status 13" when connecting to Engine

Hello,
I have a 2017 Giulia 2.0 (USA market) and I am trying to diagnose an evap system fault. When I connect to the engine and attempt to actuate the EVAP valve or fan, I get a "Failed to Execute Status 13" message. The ELM interface tests fine in the settings page. Is there another setting I need to change in order to perform these functions?
I am using an iDiagnostics wired ELM cable and MultiECUScan 5.2 Registered.

Bump - anyone have any idea? Not sure what the problem is. Would rather not take this in to the shop so that I can get my money's worth out of this software

What interface do you use?

Think that is the problem, not many experience with different interfaces, but I use a CanTieCar interface with a multiplexed version of mes and never have any problems connecting.

Have you tried connecting elm327 directly to eodb port without using any cable?

Not sure how I would do that - do you mean try a wireless interface?

No, the elm327 can be connected directly to the eodb port or via an additional cable between the elm237 and the eodb port.
For example, I have a Grande Punto T-Jet 1.4 120hp and I use an elm327 and multiecuscan.
To connect to the engine module I have to connect the elm327 directly to the eodb port, but if I want to connect to another module, for example the Blue&Me module, I have to use an additional yellow cable (A3) between the elm327 and the eodb port.
If you use multiecuscan and elm327 you can search for your car on https://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx
and check how to correctly connect the elm 327 to your car's ECU.
Hope this helps.

Ah, thanks - I understand now. I was connecting the ELM directly to the OBD port without wired adapters. Sounds like I’ll just have to close the valves manually.

Hi, your Giulia is from 2017 and is probably equipped with the sgw module and if so you need the sgw bypass cable to be able to access with multiecuscan.
On the website I pointed you to yesterday there is a note about the Alfa Romeo Giulia and the sgw bypass module.
If you scan the modules with multiecuscan it should tell you and in this case you will have to purchase the module.
I hope it helps
