Can't connect to anything other than Engine ECU (iPhone App + OBDLinkMX+)

Hi guys, I hope you can help.
I replaced the stereo in my Fiat 500 (2014 S) with an Android screen. As expected I got the flashing mileage and need to do a Proxy Alignment.
I download the MultiEcuScan app onto my iPhone from the app store and paid for the full version. I also bought the dongle that was recommended on the website (OBDLink MX+). The dongle is definietely genuine etc, it cost a fortune, I was thinking that it's probably a good thing to have for the future.
I've set it up in the car today and in the MultiECUScan app I'm able to press the 'Scan' button and view all the info about the car from the engine ECU, but literally nothing else on the entire app seems to work. I just get an error of 'CONNECTION FAILED'. Strageley most of time, under that error it also says something like "ELM 327 unable to connect" but I'm using the OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth, and i've told it that i'm using that dongle in the 'Interface Type' settings.
Is there anything i can do to get this working or have I just wasted the best part of £200 on this expensive dongle and a year's subscription to the app?
I've tried restarting my phone, the car, unplugging and replugging in the ODBLink, ignition on, engine running, etc. Nothing works, I can't access data from any of the ECUS other than the Engine ECU.
Any help would be greatly appriciated
I've added some images to the attachments
