Hallo h311m4n

Can I modify ELM327 cable with switch instead of using adapters? For connecting to other computers, not only engine. Any tutorial online? Thanks.

Yes you can modify both the ELM and KKL interfaces with small DIP switches instead of using adapter cables.

The wiring connection details can be seen here: http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx (on the right of the page)

I have done this a long time ago BUT over time the required number of wiring changes has increased and I doubt you will find enough space to fit 6 DIP switches inside the existing connector shell.

If I were doing this now then I would build a "patch box" or just use the readily available cables which when bought together will be as cheap as or cheaper than the components required for a patch box.

Hi guys, can someone take a look at this ELM327 circuit?

All the tests say OK but i cannot connect to my FIAT.

The two resistors on the right look like the ones. can you please confirm?

Ok i found a circuit similar to mine here: [link]viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1493&start=750#p12434[/link] and figured the resistor that need to be removed.

Thanks,
KR

Hello KR

What Fiat and control what you want to read?
Because not every control of the bridge resistor is a problem :-)

It depends on the protocol that you want to read

Hello,

I have problem with reading modules for Fiat Grande Punto which should be connected via adapter A3 (yellow). I have ELM327 interface and can connect (without A3) to Engine, ABS and Electric Steering module. According the list of modules http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx others should have A3 adapter. I bought one but I'm not able to connect to any of these modules mentioned with A3 (e.g. Airbag). When I tried to test this A3 adapter I realized that all pins are connected differently - all pins are connected mirrored. When I look at the photo of male and female cables (at the multiecuscan support page) female connector has pin 1 on the left side (on photo). But my adapter has pin 1 on the right side (from same point of view). I wrote to manufacturer but they answered me that "The diagram on multiecuscan's website is a little misleading because they are actually showing the pins numbered looking from the back (the solder side) of the plug".

Is this correct? Doesn't seem to me that photo could be incorrect ...

Thanks.

M.

Hello

Right images of the adapter assignment is always seen from the solder side.
But it should not be a problem because as the OBD connector to pin 1 on the interface
Pin 6 must be redirected.
And just as the pin 9 of the OBD connector to the pin 14 of the interface
The adapter should have this assignment, otherwise check the availability

But it also happens that contact problems have the plug, so press twice to the side if the error then changes.

Greetings Eddy

Hi,

OK, thanks for an answer. I will try it again but I'm afraid it will not help (I have tried already to somehow "press" it but without luck). My ELM327 looks identical (the box) like the one on the image from h311m4n (a few replies back). When this does not help where else could be a problem? Could removing of resistor help?

Thanks.

M.

Hello aaa456

I understood your post so that you without the adapter A3
can connect to the controllers??

Only with A3 adapter you have no connection?

Have I Got it wrong?

Then it will probably be the problem with the Resistor Bridges
So the ELM open and here to See which component it is.

Otherwise, just give me the pictures and I'll select this resistor
