FAULTY ELM 327 INTERFACES DE-MYSTIFIED (READ HERE)
Re: FAULTY ELM 327 INTERFACES DE-MYSTIFIED (READ HERE)
Hello
There will always be written by some people that the Chinese clone of the ELM 327 would not work.
This is not quite right!
Because only Multiecuscan has problems with these ELM interface, it is up to the wiring of the board, not the chip MCP2551
There are many types and also secure copies but I have yet none
had that did not work after removing the resistor.
Whether the details of Yani in "Supported Vehicles" are correct I do not know exactly
Stoerstefan but definitely with his ELM interface should connect to the ECU can make the Croma.
This has nothing to do with resistor
Greetings Eddy

Hello,
Here are my answers to "Alfaeddy":
1. Is the same PCB layout as member: "alikut99". I am sending picture of PCB layout from different perspective. Can you please check also this picture.
2. As manual requirement, I have been instaled VCP driver from: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
The file is zipped with version: 2.08.24 (CDM 2.08.24 WHQL Certified.zip) and as far as I understand after installation is working properly on Windows XP with speed: 38.400 and latency 16.
I did again so many try but still NOT WORKING. Waiting for solution.
Regards.

Hello soerstefan
As I have suggested your ELM interface mode has not described in this thread error. !
Especially since this also affects only the CAN bus.
On your ECU, you should definitely be able to connect.
With adapter on your ABS, Xenon and the Steering
But since all the connections are not possible, I still suspect a setting error
or your ELM is defective.
The latency should always be 1 ( not 16)
The com port on the PC and Multiecuscan same set?
Ignition on (Dashboardlights on)?
Sorry for the repetitive questions, but unfortunately I can not tell of the fault with you.
As already written!
On your interface I can see no error.
Greetings Eddy

Hi,
I have a elm327 interface witch i can use to connect to some of the Fiat Bravo (2008) ecu's but not to the body computer or the service reset.
I have read this thread an i think my interface has this problem.
Can anybody take a look on my board and tell me if i have any resistors to eliminate? or how i could modify my interface to connect on the CAN network.

RESPONSE: ATZ

Hello aurick86
Remove the red marked resistor on your board
and your interface is also capable of Multiecuscan CAN Bus
Greetings Eddy

Thank you Alfaeddy,
I've removed the resistor, and now i am able to connect to the CAN network.
Keep up the good work!

Re: FAULTY ELM 327 INTERFACES DE-MYSTIFIED (READ HERE)
Hello Eddy,
Thank you for your inputs, I have been try at weekend.
1. Modified latency from 16 to 1.
2. The com port on the PC and Multiecuscan are same: 38.400
3. Ignition on (Dashboardlights on).
Currently I can access some SYSTEM`s which is OK, but I can`t only access "ENGINE" SYSTEM.
It shows again:
"CONNECTION FAILED, ELM327 -> ECU Connection Failed ! Check your cable and serial port settings"
What could be a problem not reaching only "ENGINE" ?
Thank you again.

Dear sir
As you can see your car controlers are on diffrent pins
Take a look in the list for coverage
Engine ECU it is on pin 7
ABS on pin 1
Xenon headlamp are on pin 12
The all other controlers are on CAN
For Engine, ABS and Xenon headlamps you canb make a starp inside the tool between pins 1,7 and 12
But if the all other system dosent works this mean that your tool has am issu on CAN BUS
This not means that your tool cannot connect on CAN BUS on other brands but not in Fiat/Alfa/Lancia because it is diffent
As I told you in a post before ( but maybe you didn't saw it or you pass it ) I told you your tool has other kind of MCU not usual ELM327 and it hasn't the all known rezistor which need to be removed.
And as I told you I suppose that it is not a solution yet ( me I haven't had in my hand one similar tool as yours )
And for ELM327 it is not necesary to make any other configiration in Device manager. You can let it as it is.
Good luck

Hello soerstefan
As Mattydr67 writes your ELM interface should be able to normally without modifiktation read the CAN bus.
I remember the moment is a no reason why this does not work?!
So far I had only one case of the OBD connector had a loose connection. And wiggle the plug was then but a connection can be made.
Unfortunately, I can not think of another, Sorry
Greetings Eddy
