I think you only have to look at this "Faulty ELM 327 Interfaces De-Mystified to realise THAT EVERY problematic interface is a hardware issue and not and MES issue.

MES Free or Licensed is the same when it comes to talking to the interface hardware.

The MES website has recommended suppliers of hardware known to be fully functional/compatible with MES. These suppliers also offer end user support.

My only suggestion/recommendation is buy from an approved supplier and if you can send your current kit back for a refund. I know this is not the answer you are looking for but unless someone else steps in with a solution then I can only suggest you go with an MES recommended supplier.

thank you very much @s130 for your support, but i think that among the 2 interfaces i have now, almost one could be modifiable to work with mes. now i bought the mes license and i have to be able to connect to my car with these interfaces, it's a personal challenge ;)
could you please start to explain me how can i upload images here? so in this way it will be easier for me try to explain the problem and to find a solution.
wich are the pin i have to check resistance? pin 6 and 12, can you confirm? if they measure is about 120 ohm i have to find and remove the resistor, right?

You can't upload images directly to this forum. However when posting/replying then directly above where you are typing are the formatting buttons and the last but one is an image button/option. Click this and then enter the http URL address of the image you wish to insert.

As for advice modifications on your ELM device I've personally never had to do or research this so I'm hoping someone else will now jump in and help you.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

I have bought an ELM327 clone that should've already been altered in order to function correctly in MES. However, in MES I can start the Proxi Alignment, but it will only write to the NBC:

Writing to module: Body Computer Node (NBC) SUCCESS!
Writing to module: Dashboard Node (NQS) Unknown error
Writing to module: Climate Control Node (NCL) FAILED! - Unknown error

R04 and R05 are 101 resistors

Thanks!!

Dear S130,

Do you have any advice regarding my ELM327 clone?

My registered MES states everything is alright, all commands are returned with "ok" and the device has been classified as ELM 1.4.

However when I try to perform a Proxi Alignment on my Alfa Romeo MiTO I can only enter the Proxi menu without the A3 (yellow) cable. With the A3 connector the connection fails. I have to connect the ELM 1.4 interface directly to the OBD connector. When MES then tries to connect the Dashboard, Climate control or anything else, it fails.

My multimeter reads 50 ohm between 6 and 14. However, when I removed the resistor from R04, it still read 50 ohm. I am lost as to how to solve this issue.

Something odd is going on. Suggest you send a log report to mes support using the Red Send Report button (lower right of main panel).

Hi, I have this cable and I also bought the yellow adapter but I still can't connect to the car. The car is a Fiat Punto Evo 1.3 Multijet 16V. I connect the yellow adapter when the program tells me to do but the connection doesn't work.

What could be the problem?
