Thank you,

Just another question:
Because I already have one ELM 327 bluetooth which is working fine with most software other than MES, I'm wondering:
Is it a good idea tu buy an usb version (+ a type 3 adaptor) just to be on the safe and reliable side for doing stuff in the ECUs?
It seems to me that the USB version are more reliable in terms of data transfer.

The one I will choose I will leave it only for MES.

Hi all !

Time for some positive feedback. And maybe my experience can help a few.
You can read my posts above but I'll summarize everything in this one.

I am the happy owner of an Alfa 159 2.2 JTS.
I bought a ELM327 Wifi. I bought it here:
http://www.dx.com/p/elm327-obd-wi-fi-au ... lue-321243

Here is the board layout:

Full res : http://www.googledrive.com/host/0B7dgk3 ... lZ0ai1pN2c

I initially could only connect to the engine module. MES connected successfully to the ELM without any error. I could already connect to the Engine module and read / clear the errors. I could not connect to any other module though. I can also connect with my iPhone using some free OBD II utilities.

But I wanted be able to reset my Service indicator. And to do that I needed to connect to the Service module.
It meant I had to remove a resistor.

I removed the proposed resistor in order to get this (look in the middle /top of the picture):

Full res: http://www.googledrive.com/host/0B7dgk3 ... EFMbkw4WW8

It was extremely easy honestly. I was a little bit scared but the process is really easy.
And here I am, now everything works 100%. I can connect to all modules.
Thank you Alfaeddy for the support !

Best regards
Fabrice

Hi everybody! I'm a newbye, sorry for my english. I would present you my problem about a device bought on amazon. It is an Elm327 WiFi by DBPower

http://www.amazon.it/DBPOWER%C2%AE-Scan ... lm327+wifi

I use multiecuscan ver. 2.2 and connect the device via WiFi without problems (also my mobilephone with Torque App detects it normally)

When I first try to connect to my car (Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 MJT 90CV) I was able to connect only at the engine ECU; the device test of mes, results everything ok and detect an elm 327 ver 1.4. So I thought that I need the yellow adapter cable to connect to the other ecu, as clearly reported on the mes guide (and my car need only yellow cable to access CAN protocol and all ecu).

I received yellow cable today and tried to connect it to the car.

Well... mes results OK on the test but cannot access any ecu (engine, ABS... no ones)

So I think I need to verify if it is necessary to remove any resistors as reported in the forum. But unfortunately I can't find any device board like mine.
I'm grateful to everybody who could help me to fix this problem.

I have already opened the box removing the four screws under the orange stick and I found this:

This is the pcb without the white connector (I think the little board solded on the main board is the WiFi Module):

And I see this (rounded by red circle) R2 Resistor (it reports 121 on it) on the back plate of the pcb but i'm not sure if it's the cause...

Finally I decided to risk and remove that resistor... and now everything works fine!

Nothing changed connecting the device without A3 cable (I think it is an hardware limit), but now when I use the yellow adapter A3, the program let me read all of the other ecu and I can reset service, alarm belt, modify kilometers counter (increasing), test every lights on the instrument panel, check for relative errors and other stuffs.

Here you can see the R2 (121) resistor removed (Red rounded):

Hope this could help everyone with the same issue... Bye

Aliendex wrote:Hello guys,

I'm using a cheap chinese ELM 327 which doesn't work with MultiEcuScan even when it was original (with the resistor), this is the module:

As you can see i've already removed resistor R34 (120 Ohm) but i have the same error in MultiEcuScan.
With Torque, ScanMaster and PCMSCAn it's working fine.

[/code]
This version 2.1 also has a problem at the entrance K-line. Resistor R4 has 70 kOhm and interface on K-Line does not work. Repairing involves soldering parallel resistor 47 kOhm with R4 to obtain the resistance of 28 kOhm.

Hi there,

I'm a new member here.

Now I'm trying to retrofit cruise control to my Alfa 4C. Hardware has been
already installed, then I want to enable that function by MES but I can't
connect to Body Control Node.

Should I remove any of resistor?

This interface is compatible with ELM 327 1.4! Should connect properly with all CAN modules

Hi szes30, I've just watched your images but I can't see any resistor that reported 121 on it, what kind of device do you have? brand, version etc...

However, are you sure that the alfa 4c is supported by multiecuscan? I can't find it in supported vehicle list, and did you use any adapter cable?

Hi alexandertrask,

Thank you for your very quick reply.

Firstly about ELM327, it was sent from Greek guy to remap my Citroen
DS3R in 2012, so I have no idea where it is from. :(

But I have another ELM327 device, I will upload some photos of it later
today.

Then about adapter cable, I have ordered it but I still have not receive
it, so I modified inner wire of ELM 327. For example, wire which goes OBD
connector #6 was changed to #1, also #7 to #12 and #9 to #14.
I think this works but it doesn't.

Yes I notice that 4C is not supported at the moment, but Yani told me
that at least SCAN function could work and connect to Body Computer.

Regards,

Hi szes30, I think that altough you made that pins modifcation, you cannot communicate with ECU due to the resistor issue that it has to remove in any case in my opinion. Your modification may resolve the problem of buying adapters cable to communicate to all ECU, but I remember you that in my case, after I bought the yellow cable, I cannot communicate till I removed the resistor. I hope to express myself thinking in simple words (sorry for poor english)
