Hello Vince59

Which vehicle you would like to read
Because the resistor must be removed only for CAN bus protocols

You can add the marked Resistor from you but still remove

Furthermore, I can not find any question ??

Hallo Eddy,

as said car is a FIAT GP 1.3MJT 16V 2011. This is the OBD socket

Image

Problem is MES does NOT connect to car when I try to access to interval service even if I am setting switches to ADAPTER 3 mode (6>1 and 14>9). I set latency and buffer to low and I am working with 38400 BAUD. MES sees interface as 1.5.

Yesterday I could check engin with switches set to default (6>6 and 14>14).

Today NO CONNECTION at all.

It is not an interface problem because it connects to another old FIAT punto in standard mode.

Hello Dodo

I got the Vicar Interface yesterday
and tested today and looked at the board again

This interface is not to be used for Multiecuscan and AlfaOBD

In the other protocols besides CAN bus (KWP2000, KW1281)
it can not be used

Only the Bluetooth connection is OK, but this was also logical
did you have so synonymous

You need another interface

Hello Vince59

Unfortunately, I've often reads the user connection problems when the adapter A3 (yellow) is used.

But when you connect problems also exist with only the interface
So even without an adapter?

so I think the first ever in the wrong drivers

Perhaps the installation of dip switch is not correct, as our friend Racing Man ... viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2332&start=20#p15836

No way to have this fuckin... piece of sh.. connected to the CAN
dipswitches are fine.
cable 14 from board to dipswitch (in) 1 and 2. pin 1 to 9; pin 2 to 14
cable 6 from board to dipswitch 5 and 6. pin 5 to 6; pin 6 to 1
so ADAP 3 is switch 1 and 6 ON to have 14->9 and 6->1 (pin 7/12 on the car is not populated)

I checked the line with multimeter and it goes as follows:
- chip MC pin 6 (CAN L) -> OBD connector PIN 14 -> with dipswitch I send this to PIN 9 (car)
- chip MC pin 14 (CAN H) -> OBD connector PIN 6 -> with dipswitch I send this to PIN 1 (car)

IAW workshop manual GP has two CAN lines:
- pins 6 - 14 C-CAN (CAN HIGH / CAN LOW) elec steering; engine; ABS; ESP
- pins 1 - 9 B-CAN (CAN-A / CAN-B) instrument; radio; BT; clima; ABags

I also installed Resistor 100ohm / capacitor 560pF between pins 14/6 and ground

Drivers are prolific 23xx series

Interface work with old punto without CAN

May seem like a childish question but to redirect each pin you disconnected it (interrupted sign with another switch) of the original pin?

I am not sure about what you say.

The dipswitch is working properly as I am using the interface on another car - an old punto without CAN - and it is working.
Maybe the old car does not use the pin (1,6,9,14) but I also checked the connection with a multimeter and all the connections are ok.

I tried to translate with google translator but is not much clear. I only understand that after the mod the communication through K-line on his car starts to work on obd scanner like mine. Could you explain it here in English?

Thank You
