AlfaEddy question for you,

my undertsanding is that OLD ELM 327 metal 1.2 (fake 1.5a) do not work with CAN line. The only possible upgrade is to make them working at 34800 instead of 9600.

Looking at the OBD connector I see there is connection to CAN pins so the question is...why they do not work with CAN line?

The OBD connector has pin 2,5,6 CAN-H,7,10,14 CAN-L,15,16

Hello! I recently bought a ELM327 Mini Bluetooth interface of this kind:
http://www.iobd2.org/wp-content/uploads ... 9032_a.jpg
The problem is that when I tried it it connected with Torque free and OBD Car Doctor, however it didn't connect to the ECU with AlfaOBD. My car is Fiat Punto 1.9 JTD 80hp 2001.

I followed the steps from viewtopic.php?p=15356#p15356 this Alfaeddy's post. Now it doesn't connect neither with Torque or something else, nor with AlfaOBD. I see the bluetooth, i sucessfully connect to it, but the device itself doesn't connect to the ECU.

I opened the ELM327 Mini but couldn't separate the two boards. I tried with enourmous force but I think that they are soldered together because I bend the whole board but the pins themselves don't even move a little bit. So I just removed the R34 resistor as Alfaeddy suggests:

Does anybody have an idea how can I fix my ELM327 in order to work :( ?

BTW: I'm sorry that I post direct links but the forum doesn't allow me to use url or img>800...

Hi Vince59

It should be at the burned-on program to the PIC chip?
And this can not be changed.

So buy another ELM and use with Multiecuscan.

Hello Veskoy

Your connection problem is not the bridge resistor but
probably a wrong driver.

Because the ECU on your Punto is not read by CAN bus, but with
KWP2000 and there is no function of the resistor R34

Charging you this driver and try again.

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Only for Body Comp. / Elec. Steering /, Proxi Alig. is read via CAN bus.
and since disturbs the resistor R34

Hello Veskoy

Oh! You're working with AlfaOBD Androit, I have not read
Here, no driver is needed.

Is the battery charged?
Some had connection problems, it was the almost empty battery

Let the engine run

Yes the battery is fully charged. The problem is that before I removed the resistor I was able to connect with Torque (free). Now I can't connect neither with Torque nor with AlfaOBD. :(

Dear all,
I recently bought this Super Mini ELM327 Bluetooth adapter (claimed version v1.5):
http://www.ebay.de/itm/181436325582?_tr ... EBIDX%3AIT

I read many modifications to different versions, which fix the issues with the handling of SAE J1850 PWM protocol.
Is it possible to mod my device, and if yes how ? is there any guide available online ?

Thanks.
