Installiere doch den verlinkten Treiber und versuche noch einmal eine Verbindung zu erstellen.

Your approach so far is correct

Just to clarify, the engine ECU of your Alfa 159 must also with the resistor
R2 be read, the ECU will not be read via CAN bus.
Also, the ABS is not over CAN bus to read.
All other controls on the Alfa 159 is read via CAN bus
and to the resistor R2 must be removed.

So I think your problem is the wrong driver installliere to from this link I guess it must work your link.

so am i correct to remove R2 to access engine ECU?

i have tried updating the driver for 'standard serial over bluetooth link' to the ftdi version from your link ('usb serial port'), but get a message from windows that the device cannot start.

On the engine control unit you have in both cases can connect
With and without having to remove the resistor

Just to the Service, Dashboard, Proxi Alig. to connect the bridge resistor must be removed

thanks for that clarification eddy.

by now i think i have tried all possible settings and drivers to no avail, any other ideas? other than it being a faulty unit.

Frohes Neues Jahr

Heute habe ich einige tests gemacht:
-ich habe windows 7 32 bit installiert mit framework 3.5
-dann habe ich pcmscan, scanmaster und multiecuscan installiert
-ich habe auch versucht, ftdi driver (auf ELM327 COM port) zu installieren, aber windows sagte dass treiber war schon aktualisiert
-pcmscan und scanmaster verbinden zum ECU ohne probleme (haben automatisch ELM327 erkannt und konfiguriert - COM5, 38400 speed)
-auch mein smartphone mit torque pro app verbindet zum ECU

nur multiecuscan funktioniert einfach nicht :
-"scanne nach interfaces" erkannt meine ELM327 nicht
-wenn ich manuell COM + baudrate einstelle (COM5 + 38400 baudrate) und "test" auswähle, kommt dieser fehler:

Natürlich habe ich versucht, mit verschiedenen baudrates und buffers...auch mit "high latency modus". Was kann ich noch versuchen?

Es ist schwierig noch Tips zu geben da du schon vieles Versucht hast.
Nur eines fällt mir noch ein

Hast du es mal bei laufendem Motor versucht eine Verbindung herzustellen ?

Hallo everybody,

I have an old elm 327 (the grey metal box) one. It has 1.5a version written on the box and 1.2 on the board. No elm pic inside but pic18f2480
If connected to fiatecuscan it looks like a 1.3.
When I connect it to an old Punto from 2001 it works good but NOT if I try to connect to a Grand Punto form 2013.
I made the circuit modification to work at 34800 by connectin the pin directly to 5vdc and it work good, but still NO connection to CAN lines.
I also tried to replace the 21k ohm resitor with 4.7k ohm but no connection to CAN.
I went through the thread but I am not sure if I can have THIS version working with CAN.

Can anybody make it clear for me?
