FAULTY ELM 327 INTERFACES DE-MYSTIFIED (READ HERE)
Re: FAULTY ELM 327 INTERFACES DE-MYSTIFIED (READ HERE)
Hello Dean 21
The Resistor R1 has nothing to do with the CAN bus problem!
Remove R2 and your Bluetooth ELM is able to read CAN with MES
Greetings Eddy

Hi all,
I have read many of the posts on this subject but for the life of me I can't work out how to split the casing of my OBII ELM327 WiFi interface.
It is a simple black plastic box, but when I remove the label to expose the screws, no screws!
I have tried to force it with a knife but no joy.
Has anyone come across this, I only recieved it today so I guess the latest model, having the typical access to Can bus problems.
Cheers
Chuckster

Hello Cuckster
Under the label are no screws?
Is it a mini ELM?
A picture of the interface would be useful
Greetings Eddy

Hi everyone !
I'm from France, and i just bought an ELM 327 Metal with the 1.4 Firmware in a French retailer.
I have an Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 Jtdm Automatic, connection to the ECU and gearBox is ok, but body computer, dashboard, and almost else don't works. I had a platic elm 327 few month ago, It worked fined without modification (Alfa 159 & Fiat Croma 2.4 OK), but it used to work.
I think I found the good resistor (R04 just near the MCP2551), but i wanted to be sure ! I tested with the multimeter, it gives 118 ohms
Thanks in advance for your help!

Solution found, it appears the case was glued, screw holes were there minus screws.Alfaeddy wrote:Hello Cuckster

I used small cutting disc to release seal, now to modify
