Multiecuscan

possible causes:
- bad cable;
- wrong cable setup, latency time, fake FTDI chip;
- airbag ECU itself is a toast;

this is the bit i cannot get my headround if i plug the same set up into the engine ecu 3 pin it all works great without a problem

and i can get the blink codes ok manually from the airbag ECU 3 PIN but it wont connect with the KKL .....

think i need a beer

OK folks the latest....

multiecuscan connects to the engine ECU 3 pin with leads no problem

plug the same set up into the airbag 3 pin , set the multi scan on connect ,press Y and the multiscan will not connect BUT the air bag light goes out for approx 3 seconds then starts to Blink 3 times and the light comes on again permently .....so something must be connecting somewhere.

any ideas folks ?

(the 3 blinks are coming up in the fiat manual as" Module activation circuit coming into contact with 12 volts " but its only blinking 3 times when the laptop is connected by pressing Y on the multiscan )

parts catalogue shows couple different airbag ECUs and seems like early models didn't use TRW ECU. might be your problem.

yes thats a good point i will see if i can find out what ecu is in it ,thanks for your help

If you PM me your VIN I'll look up the part number for your airbag ECU. From that we can probably find the make.

Looks like your Airbag ECU is an early one and pre TRW.
