I've often described it, the bridge resistor is a CAN bus problem and because the older Fiat / Alfa / Lancia not be read by CAN bus
is the resistor (R2, R4, R14) is not the solution

If no interface detected when you press Scan (F11)?
Iff so, which one?

Check again all settings
Experiments sometimes a KKL interface!

Sincere apologies for the very tardy response. It is a 2004 model. As soon as the computer is connected, and the software activated the 'ECU not found' response is immediate. Hopefully I will try it again, this weekend, when my daughter brings home her laptop.

Eventually managed to reset the airbag lights. I was unable to replicate the problem. I do not know whether it was because the KKL/VAG lead was not fully inserted by my daughter on our fiurst attempt last Autumn, or that the COM ports were not configured correctly, whether it was because we selected the wrong vehicle or whether it was because I used the FIAT earth update kit(51786225). To deduce the correct vehicle I used the following process

Record the details from your Vin
The first 9 characters are your Model and the next 8 are your chassis, i.e. ZFA1800004850335
Google – FIAT EPER UK

Browse by vehicle data
Select Model – this is probably the first numerics of your Vin not including the alpha characters
Chassis # from your vin
Catalogue – select year from the drop down
In MVS select your car – 5P= 5 door. I found that the 60 refers to PUNTO 60 in the ECU Multi Scan options
Engine Stamp – from your plate on the car
Version Code - from your plate on the car
Version – select your model
Select NEXT
From the drop down select 555 –Equipment and Electrical Devices
From the next Drop Down select AIR BAG DEVICES.
You can then check to see if your ECU is the correct one for your model.

I spent some considerable time ensuring that my COM port was configured correctly. This can take some time reading through the user guide.
