Im in trouble i think. I replaced my instrument panel, but the speedometer didnt work. So i did a lot of research, and i was told that after a proxi the car would memorize the new instrument panel (http://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto/1 ... lay-2.html). So today was the big day. I did a proxi, but the results where negative
The speedo meter still doesnt work. The fault codes u1700 and u1701 remains, and i cant erase them. It is driving me crazy. I already spent too much money on this thing (went to the dealer € 100, bought fes with cables €100, instrument panel €200). Is there anyone who could help me with this, or familiair with these fault codes. I really dont know what to do...

Re: Help u1700
What make/model is your car?
Is the new instrument cluster from the same model/year? Same options?
The two errors (U1700, U1701) mean that there is a problem with the communication between the instrument cluster, body computer and engine ECU. This usually means a problem with the CAN network.

Re: Help u1700
I have a gp 1.4 8v from 2006, the new cluster came from a 1.2 or a 1.4. But it certainly looks the same. The options dials and numbers are identical.
But if it is a can network problem, is it possible that I could do something with fes to fix a can network problem. Erasing the fault codes didn't work for me.
I also have my old cluster, which had a broke fuel meter. Is it possible that I can replace the speedo meter from the old one with the new one. I don't know how it looks from inside, if these modifications are possible.

Did you get anywhere with this? I have a CAN fault that won't erase and a speedo that won't work. Mine is a 2006 Stilo JTD though.

I'm working on it but no solution for now.
