Cannot connect after update?

Hello, this morning I tried my new bluetooth ELM 327 dongle on my Alfa 147 1.6 120CV with the trial version of 3.4. At this point I could connect to the Service reset option but could not do anything else as it was the trial.
At this point I bought my multiecuscan license and at the same time upgraded to 3.4.1. Now it will not let me connect to the service reset option, or my dashboard.
Everything else works great, it is only these two.

It was ELM327 -> ECU Interface failure, or something very similar to that and tells me to check my serial/ cable settings. I know i have my com ports set up correctly, and i have tried several different speeds.

Can anyone help me?!

it's also worthy of note that when i say new, i did in fact buy it this time last year so it is unlikely to have the resistor problem mentioned?
I took it all apart and the circuit itself looks totally different to the pictures on this forum...

Can anyone help with this PLEASE?

Just tried another, working, ELM327 cable and it still doesn't work... any ideas?

Can you send me a report?
Just click the red "Send Report" button after unsuccessfull connection to the "Service Interval" module ... and send me a PM with the date/time when you sent the report
