You are right. I was very busy last week and I had no time to think about this problem.
A friend promised to find me a laptop like yours for testing, but I still don't have it here.

@mattydr67,
please test the new version 3.0.4. I think that it should fix your problem with the disconnection.

Hi Yani
I haven't anytime for this.
Now I'm vacation and when I will be back of course I will send you a messege.
Just because on that car Alfa 155 1.8TS 2.10.4 I think there is a problem more.
I mean I checked it with TEXA AXXONE and some parameters aren't correct.
When I will be back from my holliday I will make some tests and I will send you a raport and an email.
Good luck

hello all.
Refresh on - today I tested 3.3 and FES is a big improvement. The delay - latency = 1 to max 5 in the test VAG KKL interface.
when you connect to the car, I started to read the engine parameters. After about 30 seconds appeared in red lettering Latency TO HIGH - but blink a few seconds and disappears and the program is not disconnected. If I select one or max two parameters it is ok, if you check them more of them are too high latency appears once more and I just disconected me. So, it was noted to a minimum and is far ok :)
Have conecyed with the ABS also reads parameters it's ok . However, the tests - wheel sensors, the pump still does not work
AIRBAG - no problem - works everything ok ;)

FES 3.3 - is much much better thanks :)

Hello
@ all

I've also noticed with the new 3.3 Version there are no interruptions
comes with the KKL interface. The more stable and is not combined Yani has also
confirmed that the new version has been slightly modified.

Hello to everyone!

I'm a new member on this forum. I own a 98' Fiat Marea TD 100, and checked a couple of times the engine ECU with this wonderfull soft FES.
I cleared errors, and it also helped me in troubleshooting.

I use an Acer Aspire 5720G laptop, running on vista, and I've never had any bad experience with FES.

I'm about to achieve a modification on the engine. I wanted to monitor a few parameters, so I decided to change my EEEPC from Xandros to Windows XP (home edition), to allow me to run FES.
In addition, this little laptot is fed by a 9.5Volts source, which is perfect for me : it is esay to convert a 12V source to a lower rate ;)

I tried 2 version of FES with this computer : 2.31 I never accessed the ECU and got disconected in the same time.
I had no problem with my vista version...

Then I installed the 3.3 version. It runs fine with vista.
With XP, I noted this message : Latency too high.
My vagcom interface, runs with the latest driver version from FTDI's.
I have to check, but I didn't notice this message on vista...

In order to access the Latency timer, I've had to add the REG_WORD,within the registry.
I set the latency to 1ms as advised, then I was able to monitor this parameter in the driver advance window.

My wonder is about : on vista, no need to add anything, an the parameters can be set directly from the driver advance window.
On XP, it is needed (for my configuration) to have this parameter manually add.
I know a lot of stuff might generate this message.
But I experienced a difference between Vista and XP on that point.

I hope, this can help to find a reason for this message.

Good ECU scans for everyone, and Thank you Yani!

Vince

PS : sorry for this long post!

12-09 update

I've just tested the connection this morning with my 2 computers on the car.

With Vista, I got a disconnection when selecting parameters to monitor ;

I use a unregistered 3.3 version and so there is a limitation to 4 parameters.
I got the possibility to xheck for a fifth one, but then the ECU had been automatically disconnected.

I haven't got this type of error with my xp version on my EEEpc, but as soon as I select more than 1 parameter, The message Latency too High raises.
With XP, I can see the warning message stating I have an unregistered FES version.
Could it be the point?

Just one little question : can I post pdf files? I took screenshots for the 2 operating systems.

I hope this will help,

Good scans to everyone! and continue to enjoy FES as I do ;)

You can't post any files direct to the forums.
If you save them as image files though (jpg/png/gif etc.) you could upload them to a photo hosting site or your own webspace and post a link to them.

Hi Marea_FR & everyone ;)

My English is weak and not fully understand what's going on in this post.

I ask this: if the VISTA system is something you do not have XP, which allows you to work with FES 3.3 + VAG KKL interface seamlessly with a delay or LATENCY , or disconnect ?
