Cannot connect to anything other than engine ECU

Help please i have just paid the 49 Euro for the full registered edition but i cannot connect to any other ecus, the only one that works is the engine ecu.

i am using ELM 327 1.4 with FES 3.2 with my ALFA ROMEO 159 2.4 JTDM

it just comes up with "ECU connection failed. check your cable and serial port settings"

can someone help me as if not then i have just paid for nothing...

i am using an ASUS notebook with a 1.67 GHZ processor and 1 GB Ram

not sure what your getting at mate,

i read all that before i bought the relevant equipment, i have an ELM 327 1.4a, i bought FES 3.2 and my notebook is above the compatible speeds...

ELM never actually made a 1.4a - they jumped from 1.4 to 1.4b, so if your interface says it's a 1.4a, run the interface test in the software to see what it really is.

I think the point that krzys may have been getting at is that on the supported vehicles list, for the 159 2.4 everything apart from the engine management controller and CAN info require the licensed version of the software.
Can you access CAN info too? (look in the body section)
If you can access the engine and CAN info but nothing else, it suggests it could be a problem with your license activation.

All sorted now thanks...

i spoke with Yani and he pointed me in the direction of a thread which explains about elm interfaces and problems with them. i ended up removing the R04 resistor and i have access to everything now...
