Hello,
I'm new to this and just found your forum and software! I'm trying to connect to the ecu in my Alfa 156 2.4 JTD mjet 2004 model, but cannot get it to work. I'm using a vag-com 409.1kkl usb cable. How do I get this to work? I've followed your instructions and installed the drivers for the cable, but it will not connect to the ecu. Please advise if your software and the cable is compatible with my car.
Kind regards,
Cristofer

Re: Connecting with Alfa 156 jtd mjet
I dont think so.
There were no CF4 JTD engines in 156. First CF4 egines came in 159 in 2005. And they were also installed in 2006+ 147 and GT. But not in 156, because they stopped making them in 2005.
2.4 20V JTD uses EDC16C8 ECU, so it should work.

but Afla 156 have only CF3
Re: Connecting with Alfa 156 jtd mjet
It should work, ECU is the same as in 1.9 16V engines... the year of manufacture is not important here. It is only ECU type. EDC16 in your case.
Did you try any other ECU diagnostics program? Like Alfadiag or Unidiag? Those work with your car?
If not then your cable is the problem.
Your key must be in the MAR position, or if you want to log some data, your engine should be running.

Hi Cristofer, could you confirm that on the startup page you selected the make/model/version in the top windows and the approriate ECU on the bottom system window. Have to admit, to my emarrassment, I was trying to connect to my 2006 GT 1.9JTDm without highlighting the appropriate ECU.crille_h wrote:Hello,
