Yani,
I have an ELM327 1.3a and a Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 TS Elegance, year 2000. I was reading about the Additional Tips on How To Use. To access the airbag you write: "To connect to the airbag ECU you need to connect your cable to pin 3 of the OBD connector..." Please excuse my bad English and my ignorance, but, where this pin 3 should be connected???
My ELM327 is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWNX%3AIT
Thanks,

To read airbag ECU on Alfa 156 you need “VAG COM KKL 409.1” interface. Just go to “Board index ‹ Usage Q&A < VAG KKL cable connections” and you will find more details.
Cheers!

I don't think this is correct. The ELM interface supports both the CAN the KKL interface. For non CAN airbag systems then one has to bridge/connect the pins as described in the "How To Use Instructions".alfa156sarajevo wrote:To read airbag ECU on Alfa 156 you need “VAG COM KKL 409.1” interface. I thank you for your help. I'll do some tests using the cable that I have and if it goes wrong I'll buy a VAG-COM KKL 409.1.
I just do not understand why cable prices vary so much on e-bay (from $ 1.19 to $ 69.17).
Again, thanks!

Of course you are right!
But ELM 327 is little bit limited regarding airbags. It is much easier to modify VAG 409 interface than the ELM 327 interface! Did you ever open ELM327? What is inside? How many protocols there are?
And of course if you want to use your ELM interface on some other vehicle (VW, BMW) you have to be rally careful to connect everything in order so later you can use it with other vehicle!

These VAG COM KKL 409 interfaces are approximately between 10 USD and 15 USD. They are Chinese copies – not original! But they are really good copies!paulosq wrote:I thank you for your help. I'll do some tests using the cable that I have and if it goes wrong I'll buy a VAG-COM KKL 409.1.

And those that cost around 60 USD they are I guess original! But there is no big difference between those two (copy and original)!
There is difference between original VAG series 9 and copy clone also series 9!

bluetooth obd is very cheap, but VAG KKL USB cable cost little much. But it works better on Alfa
