Add Tonale in vehicle list

Post by Marmotta »

Hi! I want to buy the new Tonale Q4, the add of this model is "under construction"? I know this model have a sgw module integrated on body computer, and this is a problem.... Can I hope a workaround in the future?

Unless MES is registered as an Independent Diagnostic Tool with sites like https://webapp.autoauth.com/ (US only, EU to follow, etc) then I doubt MES will be able to fully used with ECUs with fully integrated SWG.

I also suspect that official sites like autoauth.com will only allow people to register for accounts if they are a valid commercial auto company and VAT/equivalent registered.

Whilst MES and AlfaOBD could technically support connection to manufacturer's servers via the likes of autoauth.com unless you are able/allowed to create an account with these parties then you will not be able to us MES other than to read parameters and fault codes.

shouldn't be a problem - just need to find out easily accessible place where to tap into CAN network and MES should work.

Possibly one can tap in elsewhere. Guess we will have to wait to see if anyone does this. A lot will depend on how the SGW is implmentent.

e.g. BCM <<------ encrypted ------>> ECU would be impossible? to get around.

Tonale was added to the list month ago, but I haven't read about anything about any sort of "SGW gateway" for it. Is there anything that can be done with this model at this point?
