Fiat 500e radio replacement Proxi failure

Post by Vince »

I replaced the factory radio in my 2017 Fiat 500e with another factory radio of the same part number. When I checked the proxi alignment screen it showed that the FM2 radio is present and DAB radio not present. In the CAN setup screen it shows Entertainment Telematic Node (ETM) Added/EOL Failed. When I try to do a proxi alignment I get a "ETM Failed Request out of range error message" and the mileage started flashing. The volume controls on the steering wheel will not control the radio, but the dash does show the time set on the radio. All the functions on the radio work but the GPS. Any suggestion on how I can get through this proxi alignment?

if P/N are same it shouldn't cause a problem. have you compared labels on radio?
post your FESLog - maybe there are more values which aren't supported by new radio.

also could just try do proxi couple more times - this sometimes helps too.

Hey Vince,

did you solve the problem?

If not, try this:

Immediately after the failed alignment click "disconnect" at the bottom of the Adjustments tab.
Then click on the PDF Icon on the page with the "Proxi Alignment Procedure (models with Uconnect)" Option.
This will produce a PDF file that at the bottom will tell you why the ETM failed to proxy align and what hex values are wrong.
Go back into your Custom PROXI window and change those values to what the PDF tells you to and hit "ok" and execute the proxy alignment again.

This worked for me.

Hi,

I hope you could help me as well....
I have replaced the original Radio on my Fit 500 S with an aftermarket Stereo. My odometer started flashing so I decided to do PROXI Alignment using MultiECuscan. V4.7 R
In the information page I can see : Receiver Radio (NRR) : EOL Failed. And When I move into Adjustment page and click on Execute button, It cannot write data on Receiver Radio NRR
...FAILD - Timeout Error. All other sections showing SUCCESS during proxy alignment.

I connected to body computer and found B10AA-4A - PROXI configuration Control error is there , which does not go away even if I clear it.

Any ideas how to get rid of this error and have the Proxy Alignment completed successfully ?

thank you !

FYI the B10AA-4A Error is:

Check Configuration Failed - Incorrect component installed B10AA-4A

Proxy alignment procedure not performed correctly
Perform the Proxy alignment procedure

This error will/should go away when you get a good Proxi Alignment

What's a "GOOD" PROXY ALIGNMENT?

When searching PROXY ALIGNMENT for a Fiat 500e this post and forum are always shown at the top of the search page, so for anyone looking for an PROXY ALIGNMENT I will post what worked for me here:

I recently changed the radio from a UCONNECT 5" to a UCONNECT 7" for its Apple CarPlay capabilities. After installing it and determining the radio code none of the radio features worked. With no CarPlay and with an annoying odometer blinking I needed to perform a PROXY ALIGNMENT. PROXY ALIMENT is well documented in the forum (see link - find the pdf attachment).

TOTAL BYTES 193

This worked and removed the blinking odometer. This also made Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work. It also made the USB recognize the phone. I should mention here that Andrea from the forum https://www.goingelectric.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=237&t=54795 made this project possible, thank you Andrea.
