No not stupid at all. Just with so many vehicle models and variants it is so easy to miss.
The only way one could eradicate vehicle selection (both on the web and in the MES program) would be to have a chassis number (model & type) ability.
MES and other similar programs will have issues as they by definition "chasing the curve". Fiat dealers with their "official kit" and "official support" have a phone number to call to get direct support. Issues found in official software get reported back and eventually corrected. The likes of MES and Alfa OBD will significantly lag behind.
In defence of MES and AlfaOBD .... then we pay very modest fees whereas dealer official kits costs a high initial kit cost and then an annual subscription of £1000 or 1000 Euros or more PER YEAR.
