Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD 2001 No CAN-connection!!!

Hello,

i have a Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD 2001 and FES working OK with a bridge Pins VAG-KKL-Interface. Also with an ELM327 v1.3-Interface and bridge Pins (without Pin 3) working stabil as the VAG-KKL-Interface. But the ELM327-Interface can not connect to CAN-ECUs like Bodycomputer and Service Reset !!! What can i do to fix this problem??? I have none idees!!!

Hi,

Check the wiring of your interface. CAN is on pins 6 and 14.
If it is ok, then try with another cable. The chinese cables are often faulty (or it may not be v 1.3).
I have one ELM 327 interface which behaves exactly the same way - it works ok with the non-CAN modules, but cannot connect to CAN at all. Mine is v1.3a, but it is simply faulty.
There was another user who reported that he had the same faulty interface, but has replaced some capacitors inside and has fixed it.

Thanks for the tips, wiring I have examined, should be right. Which user was this, that the interface by exchange of condensers to function has brought???

Hi,

This is what that user wrote to me in PM:
The problem was the capacitor used in after the canbus interface chip..
As seen into the ELM datasheet it must be of 560 pFarad, instead the one fitted into the chinese interface was of 100 mFarad, so with the bus not terminated the signal was too low...
I changed the 2 capacitor and all work great!!!

I have the same problem with the interface can this user say what capacitors are because my interface is based on NXP 82c250 chip for the CAN part and not the MCP 2551 from the elm datasheet.

I have exactly the same problem with no CAN connection on ELM with NXP 82c250 is there any solution ?? or only buy new interface with MCP 2551
