Alfa 33 Bosch Motronic ML4.1 support

Post by adriann »

Hi,

I know that several models of the Alfa 164 (ie: V6 & QV etc) share the same ECU as the Alfa 33 16V with ML4.1 Motronic and can actually be used to connect (with an "Invalid ISO code" warning) to the 33.

However while it is possible to connect, the connection seems to drop within a few seconds when the car isn't running... I get about 15 seconds when it is running which is just enough time for all the parameters to be displayed and maybe update once or twice, but then the connection drops.

Any advice on how to maintain a connection would be greatly appreciated. I should also mention that I have no issue maintaining connection with my Alfa 156 ECU with the same hardware (minus the 3-pin adapter).

I am using full registered version 3.6.

Kind regards,
Adrian

Hey Adriann:

I have a Motronic 4.1 with a 3.0L V6, 12 Valve engine from a 164. I'm having the same problem of losing the ecu connection shortly after it's been established. My ISO code is (3B 80 92 08 2A) and I don't think I received the invalid message.

Have you figured out the solution?

Thanks,
