I was in one local service yesterday. They told me, that my airbag unit is wrong - that somone probably tried to modified software. Best solution is find another older unit and reset it. So I'm searching...

I suggest you also look for one or two sites that can reprogram your own ECU. Should not be as difficult and expensive as well.

OK! Here are some infos regarding airbag ECUs.
I have a lot of them reseted and I get some good experiences with them.

Or airbag ECU in your car is from some other Alfa 159-other model or you have serious installations problems.

I am 99% sure that airbag ECU in your car is from some other Alfa.

To find out that you need to look in ePer with your VIN number. There you will find which airbag ECUs can be used on your car. Not all Alfas have same equipment, same number of airbags ect.
If you want you can send me your VIN number and I will chek it for you.

Drawing number FIAT: 50510957 looks OK for Alfa 159.

Here in Brazil we have a great Assistencial Fiat Website (https://www.reparadorfiat.com.br/pagina/569/home.aspx) with online catalog for all brazilian vehicles and technical informations called "Eeasy Maintenance". There is not some similar tool for you?

No. We do not have web site as you mention.
We have only ePER and it is original Fiat software.
When you go there and type your VIN you get all data about car and later you search part that you need.
Not all the cars have same equipment and parts so all is devided.

New versions are much much better. I have seen in new version that there are 3 types of Alfa 159...

Maybe models for Brazil are all different from Europe. Really, different models but sharing various same parts. Here the Marea 2.4 is mechanically almost the Marea 2.0 155, but uses Automatic Transmission (like the mine) from Marea 1.6 (things from Fiat...)

He should send me his VIN so I can check which one of airbag ECUs fits to his car...

Hi Matees,

For your problem you need to do:
1st check by VIN in ePER which airbag ECU fits to your car.
2nd if airbag ECU which is right now in your car is not in the ePER list for your car then you need to find ECU which is for your car.
3rd I have a airbag software and I can send you but even if you put it in your car it will not help you too much because your original ECU and one which is in your car are different.

My car is 2002 and airbag's "Date of programming" is 2006.

Or the airbag ECu has been reprogrammed with newer file or with a clone device...
You should be lucky...
I have seen cars from 1998 year and they have airbag ECU from 2052 year...

This is also when my airbag control unit date in 2052
But my Alfa 156 was never in a workshop and it is also
installed the original airbag control unit

Therefore, this indicator is probably one of read errors from MES
AlfaOBD read the date correctly
