Trying to reset oil light on Chrysler Delta 1.6 Diesel

Post by twe »

Hi guys,

am new to the forums and new to using this software. I have purchased a license of this software, using v2.1 and am having difficulties resetting the oil light on my dashboard.

I am trying to use it with the VGate iCar II Bluetooth adaptor http://www.obdinnovations.com/vgate-ica ... s-scanner/

Am sure it is a genuine one.

I tried the service reset interval option and that worked, but when doing the oil interval (NEXT OIL CHANGE SERVICE RESET KM) it says Failed to execute.

Same error message goes for date of last oil change and days till next service.

Any help is appreciated.

Am guessing I need a modified elm327 adaptor or/and the yellow, red, blue, purple cables too?

Any help will be appreciated.

hello twe

Your ELM interface needs to be modified, a bridge resistor prevents the execution. In this thread, the problem is described.

An adapter cable you do not need to execute the service function
only from the ABS and Steering you need an Adapter

Thank you for the reply, it did get me confused why some things worked but other commands didn't using the software.

Looking on eBay their are premodified cables available. KKL and OBDkey, which would you recommend to buy? The KKL is USB and is the cheaper out of the two. I could try modifying it and adding the switch that one of the threads is talking about althougham not very good at soldering. Main thing is to reset the oil light and service light asap.

Ah I just noticed some KKL USB adaptors on eBay with the switch built in, maybe best to get one of those?
Probably shouldn't wait for the posted from China ones but not badly priced approx £7.

hello

A KKL interface makes no sense for your Delta
so you can not read what you want.

Better to a OBDkey so you can all read the protocols KKL and ELM
need.

Open your ELM interface and remove the resistor, or let the remove
then you can read all the logs of your Delta.

Not buy KKL interface !!!!!!!!

Ah thanks for the reply. I did order the kkl cable but am trying to cancel it. The elm Bluetooth one I bought definitely seems difficult to open so might just return that & buy a pre-modified one off ebay.

Bought a pre-modified obd link adaptor off eBay and I can't fit it into the port of the car as the adaptor is too long. There is a metal bar from the fuse box in the way.

Now I am thinking to buy those colour coded adaptors which are about half the length, which should fit. But am wondering if I could use the yellow cable to let me reset the oil and service light or not. Getting over complicated for no reason!

Hi guys, am having problems with anything to do with oil info and resetting the oil light.

So far I have bought an extension cable for the obd port on the car as the modified adaptor I bought does not fit due to the size of the adaptor and the location of the port.

I have bought this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321522643436 it installed on my Windows 8.1 laptop fine and I can do a few things already such as reset the service light, check for fault codes etc.

Using multiecuscan anything to do with resetting the oil it just says Failed..... Any ideas?

I have noticed that in the Parameters I can see other information such as when the last service was done but anything to do with the oil like the last oil change and it shows nothing. Am guessing this is related to the same issue.

The adaptor connected on COM5 and baud rate 38400, I tried 9600 but it didn't work. Haven't tried any other settings just yet.

Any help appreciated as I am a bit lost now!

Thanks!
