In the settings when I push the test button, it say: The interface is compatible with ELM 327 1.3+. Should connect properly with all CAN modules.

so that resistor doesn't help me? :S

Hello

This statement of the ELM tests does not match the true function!!

Since this test function the bridge resistor does not recognize.

Quick reply @ Alfaeddy , thank you for your support
I removed the bridge resistor which you have marked on attached picture and now I am able to connect to Electric Steering , ABS , Air Bag and other CAN modules .
I have test the interface on Fiat Punto 188 and Alfa Romeo 147

Best regards,

Hi

I've bought ELM 327 to use it on my Fiat Grande Punto (1.2 8V) but i have problem connecting to with multiecuscan.

First what i did was i scan for interfaces. Was successful.

Code: Select all

ELM 327 v1.3+ (Bluetooth) interface found at port COM6, speed 115200bps
This interface is compatible with ELM 327 1.4! Should connect properly with all CAN modules.

COMPLETED
Then tried to Test connection, but this is not successful.

Code: Select all

COMMAND: ATZ
RESPONSE: +DISC:SUCCESS??>

COMMAND: ATI
RESPONSE: IRABLE?>

COMMAND: ATE0
RESPONSE: +CONNECTING<<9C:2?>

COMMAND: ATL0
RESPONSE: NECTED?>

COMMAND: ATH0
RESPONSE: ATZ ELM327 v1.5>

COMMAND: ATSPC
RESPONSE: ATSPCOK>

COMMAND: ATS0
RESPONSE: ATS0OK>

COMMAND: ATCAF0
RESPONSE: ATCAF0OK>

COMMAND: ATCFC0
RESPONSE: ATCFC0OK>

COMMAND: ATCRA 7B0
RESPONSE: ATCRA 7B0OK>

COMMAND: ATSH 7B0
RESPONSE: ATSH 7B0OK>

COMMAND: ATAT1
RESPONSE: ATAT1OK>

COMMAND: ATST41
RESPONSE: ATST41OK>

COMMAND: ATBI
RESPONSE: ATBIOK>

WARNING: This interface is not compatible with ELM 327 1.3! Will not connect to any CAN module.

To me it looks like problem with ELM versions, when scanning for interfaces in message i got one version (ELM 327 1.4!), when testing connection in the response command i can see other (ELM327 v1.5) and looks like warning message said ELM 327 1.3! is needed.

Tried to remove 120 Ohm resistor (one labelled with 121) but nothing changed (see attached image).

According to http://multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx i should be able to connect to Injection and Abs without adapter, but without success. Then i've changed wires to match Adapter 3 (ELM C19) in order to be able to connect to other CAN modules, but that doesn't help also, got same error again.

Using software like EOBD Facile, Torque and ScanTool i'm able to connect, but there is problem with MultiScan.

Does anyone has idea what could be the problem. Is my ELM not compatible with my car? Or i've removed wrong resistor?

Hello

You have already some attempts, only
Which driver do you have installed?
try this
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

After your letter you have the Punto `12?
is read only via CAN bus. ?

Your picture is unfortunately very bad you can hardly recognize the components.
Therefore, I can not tell whether you have the correct Resistor removed you.

Moreover, despite these Resistors of the interface test should be displayed as OK.
Only the compound thus does not operate.

Which interface is this exactly?

And do even a better picture.
from the rear side to

Greetings Eddy

edit:
I again looked at your interface somewhat

The boards construction I do not know
Make please a picture of the back

Hi Alfaeddy, thanks for your quick replay.

I have Grande Punto 2006 year, engine 1.2 with 8V. From what i've learned so far, yes it's read only via CAN bus (although i'm not 100% sure).

I haven't installed any specific driver manually, which driver Windows 7 downloaded automatically i'm not sure, but will check and will try today with driver that you've provided.

I've made better images from front and back.
