New user cant get it to work

Can anyone help me just bought Fiat ecu scan from Gendan tried to get it working but all I get is "cannot connect check settings or interface".
Can connect to engine via the the blue vag com lead but cant connect using the supplied Gendan ELM unit to body,abs,airbag etc.
Car is an 02 plate Fiat Punto 1.9 D
Thought this would be easy to set up considering I have bought a genuine licence and a good quality ELM interface.
Might be me being dim.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Mistuart

You can connect to the ELM interface not connected to the ABS and airbag.
only connect to the engine ECU via KWP2000 is possible

With the ELM but should also include a CAN bus connection to the steering
Body Comp. , CAN setup and instrument panel available

Finally got it working had to uninstall and re install ELM drivers then mess with some of the computer settings.
