Marelli climate control - Flap actuators learning FAILS

Post by scan »

Hi,

As usual the Marelli climate control on Stilo is very buggy. Now it blows cold on left side and hot on the right side.
The errors learned are:
1: B1908 - Right mix motor feedback
2: B1904 - Left mixing actuator
3: B1909 - Right mixing actuator
4: B1927 - Pollution sensor
The errors are not present anymore, just in memory. So I go ahead and clear them.
Then I check all the actuators:
Left mixing actuator
Right mixing actuator
Feet/vent flap actuator
Windscreen flap actuator
Air recirculation actuator
Electric fan control
A/C Compressor relay
Relay 1 (additional heater)
Relay 2 (additional heater)
Display matrix test
Display brightness
Button LED

No more errors are learned.
Then I suppose that the reason for the blockage of the mixing actuators can be corrected by relearning the flaps positions.

But if I try to run the "Flap actuators learning", it always fails without giving a reason:
EXECUTING ADJUSTMENT...
Flap actuators learning
COMPLETED
Failed

Thanks in advance for any advise.

Could be because the motors are now actually moving but the worm drive to the flaps has failed.

The stored errors would have probably occurred when the motors were overloaded due to a worn drive or stuck flap.

The failure to learn flap positions could be because althougth the motors are turning the flaps are not moving to trigger any position information.
