I also unplugged the battery and left without power for 19hours.

I can only think the airbag Airbag ECU is broken.

Thanks for the reply. However, the car has not been in a crash and it appears the errors are just from a low battery. The air bag failure light has only been on for last 4 weeks or so. So I still have the problem that MES is not able to clear the errors. The airbag ECU appears to still be functionin...
