I have the same problem.
When i enable the cruise control and try to do proxy aligment, it says dashboard module request out of range. I tried with 4 different modified elm327 interfaces.

I must add, that there isnt a LED in the dash. That is why it wont light up.
It is pretty easy to add it. You need one green 3528 plcc2 smd led and solder it on the board.
