I also have a problem with my 500L BSI ISO 40 83 EF 8A 91
I don't mind buying a license for MES 3.7 but only if it going to work but it seems that even after asking the question no answer is forthcoming.
Until then I, like others, will wait in hope for a reply.

It would appear that the 500L Body ECU ISO Code: 40 83 EF 8A 91 is not supported.
Is this correct please?

Rather that open up your new ELM327 or VAG interface and start soldering pins or switches which will invalidate your warranty and possibly damage your interface depending on your ability why not buy an OBD extension cable from Ebay and a box and a couple of of DIP switches from Maplins or RS Compona...
